These free weekend study sessions are available to all Sharp HealthCare registered nurses who work in behavioral health and are looking to review for their American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Psychiatric–Mental Health Nursing board certification.
Participants will review the following topics as it pertains to ANCC board certification standards:
- Behavioral implementations
- Crisis concepts/interventions
- Health teaching/promotion
- High-risk behaviors
- Milieu therapy
- Nursing process
- Pharmacology and integrative therapies
- Psychiatric disorders
- Test taking/practice questions
- The nursing professional
Light snacks will be provided.

Your participation in this two-day course is voluntary and unpaid. The class will be cancelled and you will be notified in advance if there are fewer than five enrollees.
We recommend reading the "Review and Resource Manual: Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing", Fifth Edition (2015), by Kim Hutchinson. Limited quantities will be available for use in class. We suggest you purchase your own copy in advance.
This class is provider-approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider No. 70) for 10.0 contact hours (5.0 per day). Partial credit will not be given.
