Join I Love a Clean San Diego and the City of Chula Vista for the 15th annual Beautify Chula Vista Day. This event as a whole has made an extensive impact on the City of Chula Vista and will continue to make a difference for years to come.
Sharp Lends a Hand volunteers will meet at Rice Canyon at Discovery Park to assist with watering and care of recent plantings, litter removal and additional projects to make the canyon shine.
If you need to cancel your registration for this event,
please call 1-800-827-4277 Monday through Friday, 7 am to 7 pm, or log in to your account to cancel online.
There is plenty of parking available in the lot next to Discovery Park.
Please account for and include the names of all guests during the registration process. To accomplish this online, please add as many guests as you will have to your registration basket before checkout.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled shift to allow time for parking and registration. Check in with the volunteer coordinator when you arrive.
- Every participant will need to bring a signed copy of the Beautify Chula Vista Day waiver and release form that will be emailed to you immediately after registration. Anyone under the age of 18 needs a parent's or guardian's signature to participate.
- Dress comfortably in gardening clothes and wear your Sharp Lends a Hand T-shirt. Be sure to dress in clothes that can get a little dirty and wear closed-toe shoes such as tennis or hiking shoes; no heels or sandals allowed for safety reasons. Depending on the weather, you may also want to wear a hat, jacket and sunscreen. You may also bring your own work gloves. All other tools and supplies are provided.
- Feel free to bring your own snacks and refreshments. In order to reduce single-use plastics, you are encouraged to bring your own reusable water bottle with water to drink.
- Please leave purses, jewelry and other valuables at home. Sharp HealthCare and I Love a Clean San Diego will not be responsible for any missing personal belongings.
How do I obtain a Sharp Lends a Hand T-shirt?
The Sharp Lends a Hand T-shirts are not event-specific, so if you have volunteered in a past event, you don't need to obtain another T-shirt. If you are volunteering for the first time, you may pick up your T-shirt at Spectrum by going to the second floor and following the signs to the T-shirt location. We have sizes ranging from child medium to adult XXXL.
Can I bring my children?
Sharp HealthCare encourages our team members to bring their families to our volunteer events whenever possible. Children are welcome to volunteer for this activity, but please make sure they are registered. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. To obtain a community service certificate for your child’s school, email Sharp Lends a Hand after the event.
