What to Bring plus

  • Every participant will need to bring a signed copy of the Beautify Chula Vista Day waiver and release form that will be emailed to you immediately after registration. Anyone under the age of 18 needs a parent's or guardian's signature to participate.
  • Dress comfortably in gardening clothes and wear your Sharp Lends a Hand T-shirt. Be sure to dress in clothes that can get a little dirty and wear closed-toe shoes such as tennis or hiking shoes; no heels or sandals allowed for safety reasons. Depending on the weather, you may also want to wear a hat, jacket and sunscreen. You may also bring your own work gloves. All other tools and supplies are provided.
  • Feel free to bring your own snacks and refreshments. In order to reduce single-use plastics, you are encouraged to bring your own reusable water bottle with water to drink.
  • Please leave purses, jewelry and other valuables at home. Sharp HealthCare and I Love a Clean San Diego will not be responsible for any missing personal belongings.

How do I obtain a Sharp Lends a Hand T-shirt?
The Sharp Lends a Hand T-shirts are not event-specific, so if you have volunteered in a past event, you don't need to obtain another T-shirt. If you are volunteering for the first time, you may pick up your T-shirt at Spectrum by going to the second floor and following the signs to the T-shirt location. We have sizes ranging from child medium to adult XXXL.

Can I bring my children?
Sharp HealthCare encourages our team members to bring their families to our volunteer events whenever possible. Children are welcome to volunteer for this activity, but please make sure they are registered. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. To obtain a community service certificate for your child’s school, email Sharp Lends a Hand after the event.

For more information, please review the Beautify Chula Vista FAQs page on SharpNET or email Sharp Lends a Hand.
