The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED Class teaches students how to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or an infant until professional help can arrive.
The course is for those who are involved in child care and have a duty to respond to children's health emergencies, including child-care workers, teachers, foster-care workers, camp counselors, youth organization employees and youth sports coaches. It is also ideal for parents, grandparents, babysitters and guardians.
The program meets Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) licensing requirements for child care. It is not appropriate for people who work in the health care field.
Course topics include:
- Child and infant single-rescuer CPR
- Child AED scenarios
- Child and infant choking
- Child and infant first aid (bleeding; burns; EpiPen administration; asthma; poisoning; diabetes; seizures; muscle, bone and joint injuries; heat and cold-related emergencies; fever; suspected abuse; bites/stings; etc.)
Participants will receive a two-year American Heart Association Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED Completion Card.

A fee of 100 percent
will be deducted from the amount paid if you cancel your registration less than 24 hours

Free visitor parking is available from the lot entrance on Spectrum Center Boulevard. Employee parking is available in the front, back and side of the Spectrum building. The four entrances on Tech Way require an activated employee badge.
Please note that Sharp employees are subject to a $25 payroll deduction if they do not attend or if they cancel or reschedule less than 24 hours prior to the start time of the class.
Participants who arrive more than five minutes after the class start time will be asked to reschedule.
Please bring the Heartsaver textbook and a photo ID to class.
