Sepsis is the No. 1 cause of death in U.S. hospitals, yet according to a 2020 survey, 71% of American adults have never heard of it before. Most cases of sepsis actually begin outside of the hospital.
This free presentation is designed to spread awareness of this potentially life-threatening condition. A nurse practitioner specializing in sepsis treatment will discuss the risk factors, causes, signs, symptoms and when to seek medical care.
He will also provide information on Sharp Grossmont Hospital's Joint Commission-certified program, including its dedication to early recognition, rapid treatment and what makes it one of the best in San Diego County.
