The Cushman Wellness Center offers a free monthly integrative medicine seminar for Sharp employees and members of the community. While topics may vary, all of these hourlong presentations center around the integration of conventional Western medicine and integrative nonmedical therapies or treatments.
Water and light snacks will be provided. Registration is not required to attend.

Friday, Nov. 8 - "Inflammation: Public Enemy No. 1”
Sharon Murnane, RN, HNB-BC, is a board-certified holistic nurse, healing touch practitioner and wellness coach. Her holistic nursing studies began in 1989, followed by healing touch and then nutrition and lifestyle coaching programs. She is currently the primary nurse at the Cushman Wellness Center and facilitates the Heart Attack and Stroke Screening program, performs healing touch, guided imagery and coordinates integrative medicine classes and workshops.
In this educational forum, participants will:
- Identify four key causes of gut inflammation that can lead to multi-system disease and dysfunction
- Understand the role of microbiota and implications for loss creating chronic inflammatory states
- Learn five key practices for healing the gut and maintaining gut integrity
Please plan to arrive at least five to 10 minutes before the start time of the session.
Please bring a notepad and pen, as well as extra water if needed.
