IV Theory and Technique Refresher Class
Receive information and hands-on training at this free course for Sharp Rees-Stealy RNs and LVNs.

This class is open to Sharp Rees-Stealy registered nurses and licensed vocational nurses who need IV skills as part of their current role. The day includes a review of IV theory in the morning, followed by an opportunity to practice and demonstrate correct IV equipment use and procedures on mannequins in the afternoon.
This course will review the following topics:
- Alaris infusion pump
- Current infection prevention guidelines and applicable Sharp HealthCare policies and procedures
- IV calculations
- LVN scope of practice
- Potential IV complications
Please note that LVNs must possess California IV therapy certification to attend.

Arrival
Please arrive 15 minutes early, as the class will begin promptly.
What to Bring
Please wear scrubs and closed-toe shoes to class. You will also need to wear your Sharp employee ID badge at all times while you are in the building.
A 30-minute break for lunch will be provided. Please bring your own lunch and other refreshments. There are refrigerators and microwaves available for use within the building as well as some fresh vending options and coffee for sale.
CEUs
Please note that we will no longer be offering CEUs for LVNs starting in 2020.
