They Will Surf Again is an award-winning series of bicoastal events sponsored by the Life Rolls On Foundation, a nonprofit organization devoted to raising awareness and funds for spinal cord injury research.
They Will Surf Again empowers paraplegics and quadriplegics to experience the freedom of mobility by riding a wave with the assistance of adaptive equipment and the support of hardworking volunteers. The event has the unique ability to engage and bridge the able-bodied and disabled communities, as they collaborate to push the bounds of possibility for those with spinal cord injuries.
Sharp HealthCare volunteers will assist with setup and breakdown, registration, equipment distribution, meals and hospitality and will help surfers on land and in the shallow water. This is a full day at the beach and some positions require your participation for the entire day.

Free parking is available in the main beach parking lot as well as on the street.
Sharp HealthCare encourages our team members to bring their families to our volunteer events whenever possible. Due to safety reasons, children under the age of 18 may not volunteer for this activity. If you decide to bring your children, you must have another adult who is not volunteering supervise them at all times. We are counting on our volunteers to be available to work their entire shift.
If you are registering for additional volunteers, please include their names during the registration process. To accomplish this online, add as many guests as you will have to your registration basket before checkout. Only register those who intend to volunteer.
Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early to allow yourself time to park. The area can get crowded and it may take some time to find parking. Check in at the volunteer registration table once you get to the beach area.
Dress comfortably and wear your Sharp Lends a Hand T-shirt. A light jacket, a hat and sunscreen are highly recommended as well as any other beach equipment that you feel you might need throughout the day.
Lunch will be provided to all participants and volunteers, but you may want to bring your own snacks and other refreshments.
Please leave purses, jewelry and other valuables at home. Sharp HealthCare and the Life Rolls On Foundation will not be responsible for any missing personal belongings.
How do I obtain a Sharp Lends a Hand T-shirt?
The Sharp Lends a Hand T-shirts are not event-specific, so if you have volunteered in a past event, you don't need to obtain another T-shirt. If you are volunteering for the first time, you may pick up your T-shirt at Spectrum by going to the second floor and following the signs to the T-shirt location. We have sizes ranging from child medium to adult XXXL.
The Spectrum building is open from 6am to 6pm and you must have your Sharp ID for access into the building. If you cannot come to Spectrum, please arrange to have a Sharp employee pick one up for you. Unfortunately, we cannot interoffice mail the shirts.
