This one-hour mandatory class is designed to update Sharp Mesa Vista nurses and mental health associates on the Crisis Prevention Institute's (CPI) new de-escalation techniques and tools. The course includes a lecture as well as a hands-on portion.
At the end of this course, employees will be able to:
- Apply physical interventions/holding skills
- Demonstrate new disengagement skills
- Explain the RESPONSE continuum
- Identify when to use the Decision-Making Matrix

If you are already registered for the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Full-Day (Jan. 4) or Refresher (Jan. 3, Jan. 10) classes, you do not need to enroll in this course. The new materials will already be included during those sessions.
