NxStage Class for Experienced CRRT Nurses
This class is required for all Sharp ICU nurses who are competent with SLEDD.

This three-hour course is mandatory for all Sharp ICU registered nurses who are competent with slow low-efficiency daily dialysis (SLEDD). It will teach you how to use a new continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) machine — the NxStage System One. The class includes a didactic approach on the components of the new system, as well as troubleshooting techniques and hands-on skills practice.
At this class, we will:
- Discuss the differences between SLEDD, continuous veno-venous hemofiltration (CVVH), continuous veno-venous hemodialysis (CVVHD) and slow continuous ultrafiltration (SCUF)
- Review alarms and troubleshooting of the NXStage machine
- Demonstrate safe use of the NXStage machine, including setting flow rates, measuring pressures, volumes, etc.

Parking Information
Parking is available in the structures at the front and back of the main hospital, as well as in the large lot behind the main hospital. Paid valet parking is available to patients and visitors Monday through Friday, 10 am to 4 pm.
Special Instructions
If you need to cancel, please do so at least two business days prior to the class. Classes will be canceled if there are fewer than six nurses enrolled. You will be notified in advance if the class is canceled.

Course Recommendations
To register for this class, you must have already completed the introduction/beginner CRRT/NxStage course.

This course is provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider No. 70) for 3.0 contact hours.
