Join the San Diego River Park Foundation at the Friends of the Point Loma Native Plant Garden as we care for a wonderful collection of California native plants and trees at this two-acre city park on the border of Ocean Beach and Point Loma. The garden is filled with many rare and beautiful native plants and trees and an extensive trail system.
Activities include trail maintenance, watering, pruning and other light gardening projects. No experience needed and community service hours can be verified. A guided tour of the garden is included.

How do I obtain a Sharp Lends a Hand T-shirt?
The Sharp Lends a Hand T-shirts are not event-specific, so if you have volunteered in a past event, you don't need to obtain another T-shirt. If you are volunteering for the first time, you may pick up your T-shirt at Spectrum by going to the second floor and following the signs to the T-shirt location. We have sizes ranging from child medium to adult XXXL.
Can I bring my children?
Sharp HealthCare encourages our team members to bring their families to our volunteer events whenever possible. Children are welcome to volunteer for this activity, but please make sure they are registered. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. To obtain a community service certificate for your child’s school, email Sharp Lends a Hand after the event.
