This 60-minute education session is required annually for all Sharp Memorial employees (and their supervisors) whose work assignments include handling or mobilizing patients and fulfills the AB1136 training requirement. The goal is to reduce staff injuries and develop a true culture of safety.
At the end of this class, employees will be able to:
- Commit to “continue” or “change” practice to ensure a safe environment
- Demonstrate use of safe patient mobilization equipment
- Display a professional commitment to injury prevention
- Select a mobility plan of care based on current research and individual patient needs
