The Sharp Mary Birch Professional Development and Practice Council is offering this free virtual workshop to all Sharp Mary Birch employees.
Guest presenter Amy Sharpe is the chair of the health subcommittee for the San Diego Regional Human Trafficking & Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) Advisory Council. Her talk entitled, "A Trauma-Informed Approach to Human Trafficking," will teach you the best practices for supporting patients who have been trafficked for labor and/or sex.
At the end of the evening, you will be able to:
Recognize the dynamics of human trafficking locally and in health care
Relate why trauma-informed assessment and response is the most effective way to address control tactics
Apply the PEARR Tool in your practice to support the dignity and autonomy of patients
