This 8-hour virtual event is a requirement for all newly hired licensed nursing staff members including registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses and licensed psychiatric technicians.
The course will provide an overview of nursing services at Sharp Mesa Vista. Topics include:
- Professional practice guidelines and scope and standards of practice
- Introduction to specific hospital departments including pharmacy, infection control and social services
- Brief workshop on mental health law, suicide risk assessment and group dynamics

This course will be led by the senior nursing specialist team from the nursing administration at Sharp Mesa Vista.

9-10 am: Pharmacy
10-11 am: Infection prevention
11 am-Noon: Mental health law
12:30-1:30 pm: Suicide risk assessment
1:30-2:30 pm: Social services
2:30-3:30 pm: Conducting groups
3:30-4:30 pm: Professional practice and scope and standards of practice
4:30 pm: Adjourn
This is an online class that will be conducted live via Teams. You need to have a computer or mobile device with audio and video to have full functionality.
