The Special Olympics Southern California–San Diego County program offers free, year-round sports training and competitions for children and adults with intellectual disabilities from Oceanside to San Ysidro.
Sharp Lends a Hand volunteers will provide assistance at the organization's regional bowling tournament by keeping track of scores, announcing awards and placing medals on the athletes.
Volunteering for Special Olympics can be a life-changing experience not just for the athletes, but for you as well.

How do I obtain a Sharp Lends a Hand T-shirt?
The Sharp Lends a Hand T-shirts are not event-specific, so if you have volunteered in a past event, you don't need to obtain another T-shirt. If you are volunteering for the first time, you may pick up your T-shirt at Spectrum by going to the second floor and following the signs to the T-shirt location. We have sizes ranging from child medium to adult XXXL.
The Spectrum building is open from 6 am to 6 pm and you must have your Sharp ID for access into the building. If you cannot come to Spectrum, please arrange to have a Sharp employee pick one up for you. Unfortunately, we cannot interoffice mail the shirts.
Can I bring my children?
Sharp HealthCare encourages our team members to bring their families to our volunteer events whenever possible. Due to safety reasons, children under the age of 14 may not volunteer for this event. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. To obtain a community service certificate for your child’s school, email Sharp Lends a Hand after the event.
For more information, please review the Special Olympics FAQs page on SharpNET or email Sharp Lends a Hand.
