Stroke Education Update Class
This class is designed to give critical care registered nurses and occupational, physical and speech therapists an overview of how to provide care for a patient who has suffered a stroke. The instructor will address assessments, treatments, patient education and CORE measures, including tPA and rehabilitation management.
At the completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Compare and contrast the clinical presentation of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke
- Compare and contrast the management of patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke
- Discuss the diagnostic tests utilized for ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke
- Discuss the etiology, risk factors, and pathophysiology of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke
