Led by a neurologist, this seminar will teach you about the ways to prevent and recognize the signs of a stroke — which is the fourth-leading cause of death in America.
Participants will learn how they can minimize their risk for a stroke, such as getting their blood pressure checked regularly, maintaining a healthy weight, abstaining from or limiting drinking and smoking and taking medication as directed.
The neurologist will also go over emergency treatment options and how to recognize and act quickly if you or a loved one is experiencing a stroke.
After the lecture, nurses from the Sharp Memorial Hospital Stroke Center will conduct a free personal health interview with blood pressure and pulse checks.
