Led by a stroke program registered nurse, this seminar will teach you about the ways to prevent and recognize the signs of a stroke — which is the fifth-leading cause of death in America.
You will learn how to minimize your risk for a stroke, such as getting your blood pressure checked regularly, maintaining a healthy weight, abstaining from or limiting drinking and smoking and taking medication as directed.
The stroke nurse will also go over emergency treatment options and how to recognize and act quickly if you or a loved one is experiencing a stroke.
This seminar is presented by Sharp HealthCare, the official health and wellness partner of the City of San Diego.
