A part of one of two hospitals in the world to maintain Designated Planetree Patient-Centered Hospital status for 10 consecutive years, the new pavilion features include natural light, a beach-inspired color palette, art and healing gardens. Designed with patient safety and privacy as priorities, the Pavilion features all private rooms.
Local artist Kirstin Green created a beautiful mosaic for the garden area of the Pavilion, inspired by the artwork of community members and former patients that ties in the colors, beauty and seascapes unique to Coronado.
About the Payne Family Outpatient Pavilion
The Pavilion was solely funded through philanthropy, a project propelled forward by 2:1 matching funds from the City of Coronado and a lead philanthropic gift from Bob and Patty Payne.
“We are grateful to Bob and Patty Payne and the City of Coronado, whose philanthropic leadership and inspired giving has allowed us to elevate patient care to new heights,” says Susan Stone, senior vice president and chief executive officer of Sharp Coronado Hospital.
Now open, the new center seamlessly integrates the skills of expert doctors, advanced technology, a healing environment and heartfelt compassion to redefine the health care experience.
