Residents of East County (and other parts of San Diego) now have an alternative to visiting the emergency room: the Sharp Grossmont Hospital Care Clinic, which opened on April 3.
The clinic is open from 8 am to 11 pm, Monday through Friday, and from 8 am to 8 pm on weekends and holidays. While walk-ins are welcome, patients are also able to request an appointment online.
“Our Care Clinic is the right choice for injuries and illnesses that require more immediate medical attention than is available in your doctor’s office,” says Connie Davis, director of the Care Clinic. “When a situation seems severe enough that you want to be seen right away, but isn’t an actual emergency, the Care Clinic is a perfect fit.”
Sharp Grossmont’s emergency room is the busiest in San Diego County, and the Care Clinic will serve as a win-win for both patients and the hospital.
“The Care Clinic will give patients greater choices for their everyday illnesses and minor injuries,” says Scott Evans, CEO of Sharp Grossmont Hospital. “Likewise, it will help to improve wait times for patients in our very busy Emergency Department.”
