This three-hour course is designed for nurses who care for heart transplant patients in the progressive care and intensive care units at Sharp Memorial Hospital and at Sharp Home Health. The instructors will review the advanced concepts of heart transplantation, including immunology, pharmacology, laboratory results, rejection, infection and co-morbities that occur because of transplantation. Challenging patient case studies will be presented to highlight these concepts.
