San Diego River Park Foundation Volunteer Session: Team ECO All Ages
The San Diego River Park Foundation is looking for Sharp volunteers.
Presented by Sharp HealthCare
Each year San Diego River Park Foundation volunteers remove more than 200,000 pounds of trash from the San Diego River and surrounding areas. Without volunteers, trash would be left to pollute native animal habitats, create unsightly piles in our parks and public spaces and leach contaminants that could be washed into our ocean and beaches
The Sharp Lends a Hand team is partnering with the San Diego River Park Foundation for this cleanup. All tools and supplies will be provided and community service hours can be verified.
If this event is full, please call 1-800-82-SHARP (1-800-827-4277), Monday through Friday, 7 am to 7 pm, and ask to be placed on our waitlist.
This event is family friendly and outdoors. Please wear long pants and closed-toed shoes and bring water.

What to Bring
- Every participant will need to bring a signed copy of the San Diego River Park Foundation waiver and release form that will be emailed to you immediately after registration. If you are under 18, please have your parents fill out this waiver and bring it with you. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult when volunteering. If you do not have access to a printer, you can sign one of the waivers at the event.
- Dress comfortably and wear your Sharp Lends a Hand T-shirt. Be sure to dress in clothes that can get a little dirty (long pants are required; long sleeves highly recommended) and wear sturdy, closed-toe tennis or hiking shoes. Sandals, TOMS or flats are not allowed for safety reasons. A hat, sunscreen or any other types of sun protection are also recommended for all of our outdoor events. All tools and supplies will be provided.
- Feel free to bring your own snacks and refreshments. In order to reduce single-use plastics, you are encouraged to bring your own reusable water bottle with water to drink.
- There are no restroom facilities at this location. Please plan accordingly.
- For safety reasons, pets are not allowed at this event.
- Please leave purses, jewelry and other valuables at home. Sharp HealthCare and the San Diego River Park Foundation will not be responsible for any missing personal belongings.
Can I bring my children?
Sharp HealthCare encourages our team members to bring their families to our volunteer events whenever possible. All ages are welcome for this event, however, everyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. To obtain a community service certificate for your child’s school, email Sharp Lends a Hand after the event.
How do I obtain a Sharp Lends a Hand T-shirt?
The Sharp Lends a Hand T-shirts are not event-specific, so if you have volunteered in a past event, you don't need to obtain another T-shirt. If you are volunteering for the first time, you may pick up your T-shirt at Spectrum by going to the second floor and following the signs to the T-shirt location. We have sizes ranging from child medium to adult XXXL.
The Spectrum building is open from 6 am to 6 pm and you must have your Sharp ID for access into the building. If you cannot come to Spectrum, please arrange to have a Sharp employee pick one up for you. Unfortunately, we cannot interoffice mail the shirts.
