About our foundations
Making a difference through our four foundations
The Foundations of Sharp support the programs and services of our regional medical centers and specialty hospitals, allowing us to provide the highest quality of care for our patients. More than 100 individuals serve on the Boards of Directors of the four Foundations.
For seven decades, a vision of uncompromising medical excellence for San Diego has inspired countless donors to support Sharp HealthCare through our Foundations.
The Foundations fund numerous projects and initiatives a year – facilities, technology, programs, clinical research and scholarships.
The Sharp philanthropy program has received the highest ratings for transparency and accountability – Platinum from Candid and Four Stars from Charity Navigator, the two most prominent and widely-referenced charity rating sites. Numerous times in the last decade, Sharp has achieved “High Performer” status among respondents for the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) Report on Giving.

Coronado Hospital Foundation
Dedicated to enhancing the health care needs of Coronado residents, visitors and the surrounding community.
Grossmont Hospital Foundation
Supports the health care needs of the East County and San Diego communities through Sharp Grossmont Hospital and Sharp HospiceCare.
Tri-City Medical Center Foundation
Supports the health care needs of North County communities through Sharp Tri-City Medical Center.
