Cancer is hard on everyone, including the kids. Join us for a fun, safe and supportive group designed to help kids talk with, listen to and meet with others who understand the unique and difficult reality of having a parent or adult family member with cancer.
This group allows time for kids and parents to meet both together and apart so kids can express themselves in ways that may be difficult to do in front of their parents. They will also learn coping skills to help them manage worries both at home and at school.
Registration is preferred, but not required prior to attending. Snacks will be provided.
If you need to cancel your registration for this event,
please call 1-800-827-4277 Monday through Friday, 7 am to 7 pm, or log in to your account to cancel online.
Reserved patient parking is located in front of the Barnhart Cancer Center. Free visitor parking is available in lots surrounding the facility.
This class is appropriate for kids ages 6 to 17. Parents must attend with their children. Please make sure to account for all children and adults in your registration.
Cara Fairfax, LCSW, is a clinical counselor at Sharp Chula Vista's Douglas & Nancy Barnhart Cancer Center.
Please note that there will be no meetings in August or September 2018. The group will resume in October.
