Impella Basics Class
This class is for Sharp Memorial Hospital employees caring for patients with an Impella percutaneous heart pump.

The Impella Basics Class is intended to educate Sharp Memorial Hospital staff involved in setting up and caring for patients needing the Impella percutaneous heart pump.
This course includes hands-on practice and will review the following:
- Patient selection and indications for use
- Roles in set up and insertion
- Possible complications associated with the Impella pump
- Removal process

This class will be led by a representative from Abiomed.
What to Bring
All participants are required to complete the Impella CP with Smart Assist Patient Management Training prior to attending class. To access the training program, please sign up online at abiomedloop.csod.com/client/abiomedloop/default.aspx. The course will take approximately one hour to complete.
Please print and bring the CEU form to class as proof of completion.
CEUs
This course is Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider No. 70) for 2.0 contact hours.
You must bring your RN license with you to the class to receive the CEUs.
