This interactive educational course will teach you about lymphedema, a condition where swelling occurs as a result of damage or blockage in the lymph system. We will review what lymphedema is, how to be aware of symptoms, what to do if you display any symptoms, how to prevent or manage the condition and the treatment options available.
The instructor will provide examples of supplies, such as compression garments, sleeves and gloves that can minimize swelling and control pain. You will also learn exercises and massage techniques that you can do on your own to treat symptoms.
Light refreshments will be served.
