If you answered "yes" to one or more of the questions above, you are not alone. Postpartum mood disorders affect up to 20 percent of new mothers and are very treatable. Join our free virtual support group for new mothers to share experiences and get support.
The online group offers education and support for women suffering "baby blues" symptoms or anxiety/depression during or after pregnancy.
Topics addressed may include:
- Feelings of isolation
- How to seek support
- Issues related to postpartum mood disorders
- Parenting struggles
- Professional referrals
- Suggestions on how to cope
- What have others done

This support group is facilitated by Lori Alford, LCSW, a behavioral health therapist who specializes in helping adults who struggle with mood disorders. Please call Alford at 619-740-3483 with questions and concerns.
This support group will meet every Thursday from 2:30 to 3:30 pm, starting on Jan. 7. There are no group meetings on major holidays.
