Medicare Open Enrollment
Open enrollment is the time of year when you can review your current Medicare coverage and make any changes for the following year. Medicare open enrollment begins Oct. 15 and ends Dec. 7.
The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) for 2020 has closed. However, due to wildfires in California, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has opened a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) now through Jan. 31, 2021. If you are a Medicare beneficiary who resides, or resided, in San Diego County and were unable to enroll in a plan during another qualifying election period, this is an additional opportunity to review and update your coverage.
