About Sparghai Ludin, MD

I am originally from Afghanistan and was born in Pakistan as a refugee before moving to the United States in my teens. Growing up, I always wanted to become a physician like my father, who lost his life during war. Given my background, I am passionate about caring for a diverse patient population and enjoy seeing patients of all ages. I believe in a patient-centered approach built on compassion, personal connection and a strong sense of community. My areas of special interest include geriatric care, pediatric care, preventive medicine, diabetes management and obesity, as well as the treatment of acute and chronic conditions in family medicine. In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my husband and son and exploring new coffee shops and parks throughout San Diego. I also like to think I'm a great cook. I speak five languages: Dari, Farsi, Hindi, Pashto and Urdu.
