Parent Loss Support Group
Fee: Free

The loss of a parent can present a unique grief response, as our history and identity are tied to this very important person who we have known our whole life. Our parents were the first connection we had to the world and helped guide us in maneuvering through it. There is a deep connection to our parents that was created from their sacrifices and love they provided to us. Many questions arise when this anchor has been removed and our tie to the past is lost.
This 10-week counseling group will address concerns of adults who are grieving the loss of a parent. Participants will share emotional challenges, receive support from others in similar life circumstances, have an opportunity to share their loved one’s story and learn coping skills.
An in-person interview with the bereavement facilitator is a requirement for participation in this group. Please register as soon as possible or no later than March 31, as space is limited. A representative from Sharp HospiceCare will contact you to arrange your in-person interview, go over required paperwork and provide an exact meeting location.
