Treating Heartburn, GERD and Barrett's Esophagus Class
Occasional heartburn is normal. However, a sour taste, burning in your throat and dry cough could mean acid reflux disease, often called GERD. Untreated, it can lead to a pre-cancerous ailment called Barrett’s esophagus. As San Diego’s health care leader, Sharp wants people to understand these conditions, and what can be done.
At a free seminar from Sharp Grossmont Hospital, Dr. Michael Lajin, a board-certified gastroenterologist, will discuss heartburn, acid reflux and Barrett’s esophagus. You’ll learn how diet and lifestyle can contribute to uncomfortable days and sleepless nights. And you’ll hear the latest on medications and treatment, including an advanced, minimally invasive procedure to prevent acid reflux. There will be time for questions, too.
