When facing illness or trauma, many people seek solace and meaning from spiritual counsel. At Sharp, we believe in providing a level of comfort and healing that goes beyond just the body. If you're interested in the practice of clinical pastoral service, we offer a unique program to educate and support you.
Accredited by ACPE: The Standard for Spiritual Care and Education, our graduate-level Clinical Pastoral Education Program (CPE) provides valuable resources and unique hands-on learning opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Intern CPE, Extended Unit — This part-time unit of CPE (15 to 20 hours per week) is an introductory level generally for those who want to take CPE while they are working or going to school. There is no stipend for the extended unit.
Residency CPE — This full-time (40 hours per week) program offers advanced clinical pastoral education. The program begins each year at the end of August and runs for 53 weeks. This one-year-plus-a-week format allows for one week of meaningful overlap and connection between outgoing and incoming classes. There is a yearly resident stipend for six funded residency positions.
