About Marissa Lovio, MD
I became an OBGYN because I enjoy caring for women throughout their life. Women are the backbone of families, and it is my privilege to be present at important moments in their lives. As a native San Diegan, I enjoy taking care of the diverse women in my community. My practice philosophy includes striving to provide culturally appropriate care to my patients. I believe in educating women on their health to empower them to make informed health decisions. My mission is to partner with you so you can be as healthy as possible during your journey through life. I enjoy spending time with family and friends in beautiful San Diego. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking with my dog, yoga, traveling and reading non-fiction.

I had this procedure done at Kaiser when I was 21 and I almost fainted after leaving the room where the procedure was performed. However, this time around at Sharp I was much more comfortable, the doctor gave me a break when I was feeling pain and the assistant gave me a heating pad to help with the pain. and they waited until I was ready to continue the procedure. I really appreciate the care they provided. They also told me to take my time getting up afterwards and gave me juice which really helped. I didn't feel faint and I'm happy I had such a good care team. Thank you!
