Rounding helps to hardwire key behavior standards
Rounding for outcomes is one of the skills we use at Sharp HealthCare to better serve our patients, physicians and staff. Leaders round in their own areas to build relationships and to connect the team to purposeful worthwhile work. Rounding provides a time not only to build relationships but to be a role model, mentor, assess employee morale, harvest wins and identify and remove barriers that prevent staff from doing their jobs. It ensures that key behavior standards in the organization are hardwired.
The linkage grid below provides a place for leaders to record the current priority focus, record the issues, wins and follow-up items. It also serves as a reminder to connect with registry staff, employees on leaves, new employees in their first 90 days and continue the high/medium/low performer reviews. Finally, it provides the opportunity to reflect and connect the dots.
