Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital
Cognitive Behavioral Group Therapy for Teens
Effective, empowering therapy for teens.
Sharp Mesa Vista offers an after-school program for teens, grades 7 through 12, struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. Our cognitive behavioral therapy program provides a structured and supportive environment for learning healthier ways to cope with the stresses and difficulties many adolescents face.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) teaches teens to learn new ways of thinking and to make connections between their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Additional topics discussed during therapy include anger management, effective communication, stress management, self-esteem, social skills, self injury and substance abuse.
Treatment primarily takes place in a group therapy setting, along with routine individual sessions. We also encourage family involvement by offering weekly multifamily group therapy.
Our program is offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 7 pm.
