Nurse Connection is Sharp’s after-hours nurse advice line for Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group members. If you have a health care question after regular business hours or on the weekend — for yourself or your child — Sharp's medical advice phone line connects you to experienced nurses.
Call Nurse Connection at 1-800-767-4277 for guidance on the most appropriate treatment for any health concern, registered nurses are available to speak with you Monday through Friday, 5 pm to 8 am, and 24 hours a day on weekends and holidays.
We offer after-hours pediatric care daily until 8 pm for those times when your child needs to see the doctor outside of regular office hours. To make an after-hours appointment, call 858-499-2701.

Pediatric and adolescent patients may also be seen on a walk-in basis at any Sharp Rees-Stealy urgent care center for acute illness and injuries. Urgent care centers are open daily.
To schedule online, use our Find a Doctor tool or the Sharp app. We offer both in-person and virtual visits, so you can get the care you need from anywhere. Same-day and next-day primary and specialty care appointments are also available.
Existing patients: If you are an existing patient with a Sharp primary care doctor (meaning you have seen your doctor at least once), you can schedule through your Sharp app or simply call the doctor’s office to make an appointment. Some doctors also offer online scheduling through their sharp.com profile.
New patients: If you have selected a doctor, but have not yet had your first appointment, you can call the doctor's office directly or call 1-800-82-SHARP (1-800-827-4277), Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Some doctors also offer online scheduling for new patients through their sharp.com profile.

In some cases, you will need a referral from your primary care doctor.
Some medical groups offer direct access to certain types of specialists. And some health plans, such as PPOs, offer direct access to all specialists. Contact your health plan's member services department to confirm your coverage.

Same-day virtual care visits are for children up to age 17 — Monday to Friday, 7 am to 8 pm; Saturday and Sunday, 8 am to 8 pm. Appointments can be made through sharp.com or Sharp app.
If your child needs immediate care, please go to one of our urgent care centers.
A virtual care visit may be right for your child if they have any of these symptoms.
For your newborn to child age 3 months, the following symptoms can be addressed:
