From anxiety to depression, our expert team at Sharp Grossmont is here to provide the support and treatment you need, in a comfortable and compassionate setting. Our outpatient programs are designed with you in mind — and will help you discover your personal path to recovery.
Our mental health outpatient programs cover a range of treatments and therapies:
Acceptance and commitment therapy program.
In this 6-to-8-week program, you will learn behavioral techniques and skills needed to move past symptoms of depression, bipolar or anxiety disorders toward the achievement of important life goals. You will be taught skills such as:
- Mindfulness — objectively observing your thoughts while staying in the present
- Cognitive diffusion — recognizing negative self thoughts as merely being thoughts
- Acceptance — a willingness to commit to taking steps toward valued goals, even if it involves experiencing negative emotions
Adult mental health program.
Designed for adults with acute and chronic disorders, this treatment plan embraces psychiatric rehabilitation to support your personal growth and well-being. Our program includes a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation as well as personalized, interdisciplinary treatment and group therapy designed to encourage hope and empowerment.
Our Bridges program is designed to treat even the most complex mental health issues, such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective and bipolar disorder. Based on the Recovery Model, this program provides hope and empowerment and helps individuals achieve a maximal level of independence.
Dual recovery program.
The Dual Recovery Outpatient Program is designed for adults who have co-existing mental illness and chemical-use or addictive behavior disorder. Our program uses an integrated approach to help individuals develop the functional skills needed to cope with their problems.
Senior mental health program.
This program is designed for older adults — 60 years of age or older — experiencing challenging and age-related life transitions. Patients in this program will learn techniques to manage stress and anxiety, and cope with changes in health, transitions and losses. Patients can expect to:
- Develop a routine of enjoyable activities that supports and improves their quality of life
- Learn skills to help understand and change unhealthy thoughts
- Maximize communication and conflict-resolution skills
- Use relaxation techniques to manage anxiety and improve sleep
Outpatient electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) program.
Our outpatient ECT program is guided by an experienced treatment team of doctors, nurses and anesthesiologists. During ECT — a brief electrical stimulation to the scalp — you will be under the care of a specialized team in our acute-care facility.
Offering adult and older adult inpatient psychiatric, partial hospital and outpatient services.
