Choose the San Diego robotic surgeon who's right for you.
As one of the region’s earliest adopters of robotic technology, Sharp HealthCare has built a reputation as a leader in robotic-assisted surgery. This type of minimally invasive surgery allows surgeons to perform complex procedures with enhanced accuracy and precision, leading to fewer complications, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery times.
Robotic-assisted surgery has become the norm for treating many common and complex conditions such as hernia and heart valve repairs, joint replacement, and colorectal, bariatric and gynecologic issues.
During the procedure, your surgeon controls the da Vinci robotic system, which has four robotic arms — three holding surgical instruments and the fourth featuring a high-definition, 3D camera.
The arms act an extension of your surgeon’s hands, but with greater dexterity and control, enabling better access to hard-to-reach areas through tiny incisions. The camera provides a magnified, 360-degree view, giving doctors an improved sight line that they don’t have during traditional open or laparoscopic procedures.
Sharp HealthCare is the first system on the West Coast to receive this designation by Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), an internationally recognized, nonprofit, patient safety organization. The accreditation signifies our ability to consistently deliver the safest, highest-quality surgical care to our patients.
We offer robotic-assisted surgery at hospitals across San Diego — from South Bay to East County to Kearny Mesa.
