What you need to bring.
Your hospital admission form
Before your delivery date arrives, please take the time to fill out the maternity admission form and mail it in with a copy of your insurance card, or bring it to the labor and delivery admitting desk at the hospital. If you are not able to fill out the form before your day of delivery, please go to the admission desk right away upon your arrival.
Your birth plan
Prepare for your delivery, your way. Fill out our birth plan worksheet with your labor and delivery wishes and bring it with you to the hospital.
Your overnight bag
Have your bags packed in advance. It's best to have a smaller bag with items you'll want during labor and a larger bag or suitcase with postpartum items. And make sure you charge your cameras and have plenty of memory and new batteries. View our list of packing suggestions.
A safely installed car seat
Have a car seat properly installed in your car to be ready for baby. According to safety experts, 96 percent of all car seats in San Diego County are improperly installed. Learn more about car seat safety.
