We know how important family is at this time, and we encourage a safe environment for mothers and babies. If you plan to visit, please review our updated visitor guidelines.

Maternity patients are permitted up to 3 support people at a time, per day. A doula may be permitted in addition if prior arrangements have been made. Although support people and visitors are not allowed in the triage area, they may rejoin the patient when they have been admitted to Labor and Delivery.

Once the patient has delivered and is in postpartum care, only 1 support person can spend the night (must be wearing an infant identification band). Two additional visitors are permitted during preferred visitation hours from 8 am to 8 pm and may swap out.

Every patient and support person will be screened upon arrival at the Sharp Chula Vista Center for Women & Newborns.

If your loved one is staying with us, send a personalized e-card to brighten their day. Your message will be printed and hand-delivered within two business days — completely free of charge.

From snacks to flowers, our gift shop has everything you need, including balloons and delivery to patient rooms. Proceeds benefit the hospital Auxiliary, which supports programs and special amenities for our patients.

Many patient rooms at Sharp Chula Vista are private. And for added privacy and comfort, each room includes a bathroom for your exclusive use.

A patient’s designated care partner may be able to stay the night to help with the patient’s needs. If the patient is in a semi-private room, the care partner must be the same sex as the patient.

If you are staying overnight as a patient's guest, a sleeper sofa or sleep chair may be available in their room for you to sleep on.

If you would like to bring a laptop computer with you for your stay, free wireless internet connections are available throughout the hospital. We also have family lounges, vending machines, a gift shop, a rooftop café, an ATM, and a coffee shop located inside the hospital for your convenience.

Children can visit patients at the hospital but must be accompanied by an adult at all times if they are under the age of 16.

Up to two visitors are welcome by the bedside at a time per the patient’s discretion. Additional visitors can relax in the hospital’s family lounges on each patient floor or they can go to Chica’s Café (7th floor), The Drip Coffee Shop (1st floor) or the gift shop in the lobby.

Hospital quiet time is from 8 pm to 8 am.

Spiritual support is available to patients, their families and hospital staff at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center. Interfaith chaplains can provide:

• Spiritual and emotional support to patients, families and hospital staff

• Assistance related to sacramental needs

• Help contacting a religious leader of a particular faith tradition

• After-hours on-call coverage for emergencies

Chaplains are available at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center daily from 8 am to 4:30 pm.

An interfaith chapel is located just off the lobby in the Ocean View Tower and an additional chapel is located behind the Emergency Department waiting area. Our chapels are open 24 hours a day. All staff, patients and visitors are welcome.

All dining areas are open to visitors. For your convenience, we offer two dining options in the Ocean View Tower:

• Chica's Café (7th floor): Enjoy a full menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Chica's Café is open until 6 pm daily.

• The Drip Coffee Shop (1st floor): Offering coffee, pastries and other light refreshments. Grab-and-go items are available until 10 pm daily.

Guests can order ahead for quick pickup from either location via the Everyday website or mobile app, which is available in the Apple Store and Google Play Store.
